The Society for Meritorious Students was established in 2002 with the aim of providing assistance to needy and meritorious students. This concept evolved while helping disabled people who due to financial constraints were not in a position to educate and develop their children, who might well be exceptionally brilliant. The students once adopted by the society will continue to be looked after till they have finished their education and are placed in a job.
When the right to education becomes the norm, the entire world gains. We are working actively to support 800-1000 college and school going students, realizing our vision of an educated and developed India. We put great emphasis on girl education. The students in our society are selected in conjunction with the Principals of the schools. Apart from financial assistance, the students are guided and motivated to perform better, by members of the society.
We are currently supporting five schools in the villages, named Kot, Billa, Ramgarh, Suketri and Mubarakpur. The number is likely to go up in near future. Students are provided assistance in the form of tuition fee, computer fee, books, stationery, uniform and other aids including medical support so that they excel in studies. Each member of the society acts as a coordinator for one or more schools, which involves visiting the school and interacting with the students, teachers and their parents; the aim being to motivate students to perform better and imbibe ethical values.
We are indeed overwhelmed by the magnanimous support and financial assistance we have received from various donors and school/college Principals. This has truly enabled our society to make rapid strides in child education.
